Deloitte and Mail

Monday morning rush hour. Awoke at 6 a.m. to dress in black slacks and a tannish suit and tie, followed by a breakfast of Lucky Charms cereal. At 7:05 a.m. I met my friend Destin and we hopped a "1" train at 116th and Broadway, switching to a "2" train at 96th, taking that subway all the way to Park Place. We then walked by Ground Zero to 2 World Financial Center and started Day One at Deloitte. Orientation all day.

...Getting security badges, submitting HR paperwork, listening to partners of the firm talk about how to climb the corporate ladder, learnikng the history and organization of the firm, learning about the need to not have financial holdings in companies whose audits we will work on (avoiding the impairment of independence and objectivity), HR policies, payroll procedures, diversity, safety and security, office services, community service, etc. 8:30 a.m. til 4:30, with a reception til 5:30 after that.

Then Geralyn and Colin and I caught some dinner (I was stuffed and didn't eat) and then some Gelato (google it...I did eat) after that for dessert. Now I'm back in the dorm looking at paperwork and thinking of going to bed so I can get a full night's sleep tonight.

Send me mail! My address this summer is:

Joshua Clayton
7173 Lerner Hall
Columbia University
2920 Broadway
New York, NY 10027

Let me know if you do send mail or else I'll probably only check the box once per week, as it's a bit out of the way to check. Not to dissuade you from sending! I just don't want anyone to write and say, "Oh, what a sick man Joshua has become. He doth not even acknowledge my mailings to himeth." Peace out (and love).
